For Your Own Protection
John 17:6-19

Sermon Title: FOR YOUR OWN PROTECTION or
HOW TO STAY PROTECTED

Madalas nating mabasa ang warnings na ganito,

"For your own protection, wear safety hats."
"For your own safety, buckle up."

sa mga computers naman, mababasa ang ganitong messages mula sa mga Anti-Virus Providers,

"Keep you computer protected, download your anti-virus now!"

Safety comes in many forms, because danger comes in many forms too.

It was reported, on a Unang Hirit episode (May 15, 2015, 6am) that in the Philippines alone, there 33,000 accidents per year that take the lives of our young people, through road accidents alone. Wala pa dito yung napapahamak sa ibang krimen.

For our own sake as Christians, it is only Jesus Christ who can provide us safety in our journey in this world.  This world, where we are passing though is a dangerous place, because the prince of this world is none other than the devil.

So how are we going to keep ourselves protected from evil?

To remain protected then,

Let us read the prayer of our Lord Jesus. For this prayer reveals the heart of Christ on his intentions for our safety as his disciples. To remain safe, do the following,

1. Stick to the Word, (v. 8For I gave them the words you gave me and they accepted them.)

2. Let us Keep Our Unity as Christians (v. 11b, protect them by the power of your name-the name you gave me-so that they may be one as we are one.)

3. Be sanctified by the truth (v. 17, Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.)
